GWO BST Training

Who is GWO Basic Safety Training for?

The GWO Basic Safety Training (GWO BST) is a key program for individuals working on wind turbines. Although it is not legally required by international or national regulations, most companies in the wind energy sector consider this certification a mandatory requirement for employment.

Types of GWO training

Depending on the working environment, we offer two variants:

  • GWO Offshore – a 5-module training program (onshore package + Sea Survival module).
  • GWO Onshore – a 4-module training program designed for those working on onshore wind turbines.

 

Obtaining the GWO BST certificate is not only about meeting employer requirements, but above all an investment in safety and professional competence in a demanding job market.

First Aid Module

The module includes both theoretical and practical classes, focusing on:

  • Basic principles of providing first aid in life-threatening situations,
  • Injuries characteristic of working in wind turbine environments.

Manual Handling Module

The participant gains knowledge about the application of proper lifting techniques and applies it in practice. Skills acquired during the training:

  • Allow maintaining the musculoskeletal system in good condition, protecting against injuries,
  • Enhance awareness of health prevention and taking care of one's own health in the long-term professional perspective.

Manual Module Fire Awareness

The purpose of the module is to acquire knowledge and skills in fire safety within the wind turbine environment. Upon completion of the training, the participant:

  • Recognizes potential fire hazards that may occur while performing duties.
  • Has the ability to respond effectively in fire emergency situations.
  • Can properly use basic firefighting equipment.

Manual Work at Height Module (Working at Height)

Training scope:

The aim of the training is to acquire knowledge and skills in using access techniques and equipment for working at height in a wind turbine environment. After completing the training, the participant:

  • Correctly uses Personal Protective Equipment,
  • Has the ability to work and evacuate from heights,
  • Responds appropriately in emergency situations,
  • Is able to conduct a rescue operation.

Manual Sea Survival Module (Sea Survival)

The purpose of the training is to acquire knowledge and skills in transfer techniques and sea survival. Upon completion of the training, the participant:

  • Correctly uses Personal Protective Equipment protecting against drowning,
  • Has knowledge about sea transfers port->CTV vessel -> WTG turbine,
  • Responds appropriately in emergency and evacuation situations,
  • Knows survival techniques in water.
